Left with nothing

The world was shocked and saddened when tragic INX heartthrob Michael Hutchence took his own life in 1997.

His daughter Tiger Lily was tipped to inherit millions from his estate, but now the 22-year-old has opened up about her current life, allegedly saying that she feels ‘ignored’ by her late dad after receiving only £500 inheritance.

Tiger Lily, whose mother was the late Paula Yates, spoke to documentary filmmaker Richard Lowenstein about a film about the rock star’s life.

He claims in WHO Magazine that she is now living in a London flat that’s “like a little squat” and feels “ignored” by her father’s estate.

“I don’t know if it’s going to help because no-one acknowledges who I am or my part in the music or the legacy at all,” Tiger Lily, whose real name is Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof, was said to have told Richard.

“I’ve just been ignored by Michael’s estate and anyone else involved with his music.”

Tiger Lily, who was only 16 months old when her father took his own life, was left £14,000 in her mother’s will when she died from an overdose three years later in 2000.

It was expected that Tiger Lily was to inherit part of Michael’s estimated £16million fortune but was told his sizeable property portfolio wasn’t his to sell or bequeath.

The Geldof/Yates family line has been hit by tragedy since the mid-1990s.

After Michael took his own life, Tiger Lily’s mother, broadcaster Paula Yates, died of an overdose three years later.

And then, in 2014, Tiger Lily’s half-sister Peaches – daughter to rock star Bob Geldof and Paula – tragically died of a heroin overdose at the age of 25.

In 2017, her widow Thomas Cohen spoke about the heartbreaking moment he discovered Peaches’ body.

The musician admitted he “wasn’t surprised” after finding her body and carried on looking after their two children.

She was survived by sons Astala, 7, and Phaedra, 6.
