She spoke out on Instagram

Melanie Sykes has clarified her relationship status following reports she’s bagged herself a toy boy in Olly Murs.

The model-turned-presenter took to Instagram last night to set the record straight while sharing a picture of herself looking glam at the Businesswoman of the Year Awards in Dublin.

She wrote alongside the snap of herself in a revealing dress: “This is what a single, happy, healthy, 47yrs old independent mother of two teenage sons looks like. DEAL WITH IT!”

It was alleged last week that twice-married Melanie had been “secretly dating” Olly, 33, for a year.

A source told The Sun the pair had bonded over their love of fitness despite their 14 year age gap.

The source said: “They were initially introduced through a mutual friend. They started texting for ages, and some of the messages ended up getting quite saucy.

“They were bonding over her fitness programme. He was a fan of her gym selfies and thought that she had an amazing body.”

Former I’m A Celebrity star Melanie has professed her love of Olly’s music on Instagram in the past and shared a picture of herself with her arms around the popstar earlier this year as she attended one of his gigs.

She write alongside the snap: “Not much can get me out on a Saturday night but this guy has!”

However now she has revealed they are just friends by confirming her single status.

Melanie has two sons, Roman, 15, and Valentino, 13, with her first husband Daniel Caltagirone.

She split from the actor in 2008 and then had a whirlwind romance with roofer Jack Cockings, who was 15 years her junior.

They divorced in 2013 after seven months of marriage and Melanie later admitted she had been “married to the wrong person”.

She added that she hasn’t ruled out tying the knot for a third time if she finds love again.

“I never say never any more, because every time I do, I end up doing the opposite thing,” she told Fabulous in 2016.

But for now it seems she’s happy to remain free and single.
