The Duke and Duchess of Sussex issue apology after embarrassing social media blunder

Couple say sorry for the "hiccup"

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have apologised to their social media followers after an embarrassing blunder on Instagram.

Earlier this week, the pair uploaded an inspirational quote by Maya Angelou to the social network.

It read: "Each time a women stands up for herself without knowing it possible, without claiming it, she stands up for all women."

However, their eagle-eyed followers swiftly spotted the couple's mistake.

One said: "With your education I'd expect you to know when to use the word woman or women."

Another called the mistake very "unroyal".

After deleting the post, the royals edited the quote and re-uploaded it.

Fans were quick to praise Meghan and Harry for admitting their mistake.
