The 37-year-old was overhead by several reporters revealing that their baby would be due in late April or early May during a brief exchange as she showed off her blossoming bump during their trip to the northwest.

Royal fans had previously speculated that, due to the size of the Duchess’ bump she could be due as early as March.

Meghan looked happy and relaxed as she chatted to well-wishers for 45 minutes – many of which had been queuing for hours to meet the couple – wearing a red wrap dress over a figure hugging purple dress from Babaton by Aritizia.

The couple then met local veterans and member of the Birkenhead Old Boys who played a part in the creation of the tribute.

Later, the couple will visit Tomorrow’s Women Wirral before moving on to the Hive Wirral Youth Zone.
