Meghan Markle to make first trip to the Queen’s Balmoral estate ‘next week’

Visit will come days after Will and Kate headed home…

She married into the royal family back in May 2018, but so far Meghan Markle hasn’t been to visit the Queen on her Balmoral Estate.

The monarch heads to her Scottish retreat every summer, where she relaxes alongside her husband Prince Philip.

Now it’s been claimed that Meghan will visit, along with her husband Prince Harry and their son Archie, next week.

A source on the estate told the Daily Mail that the Duchess of Sussex will be made to feel right at home in the Highlands.

They said: “Her Royal Highness will be made very welcome.”

However, the trip won’t heal reports of a supposed rift between Meghan and Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as Will and Kate headed home from their Balmoral break this week.

They flew up on a £73 budget flight – something Meghan and Harry are also expected to do.

During their stay, the young family will be able to join the Queen and Prince Philip on “bracing walks in the Highlands”, the paper reports.

Princess Eugenie has previously called Balmoral “the most beautiful place on earth”.

She told ITV’s Our Queen At Ninety that a trip to Balmoral involves “walks, picnics, dogs – a lot of dogs, there’s always dogs – and people coming in and out all the time”.

She added: “It’s a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there; where you just have room to breathe and run.”

She also revealed: “I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands.”

Animal activist and part-time vegan Meghan will also no doubt be thrilled that grouse shooting on the estate has reportedly been cancelled this year.
