Meghan introducing baby Archie to Kate and William today

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to head to Windsor to meet their new nephew

| Updated:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will today meet their new nephew for the very first time, exactly a week after his arrival.

Kate and Wills are expected to travel to Windsor to meet baby Archie, the first child of William’s brother Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

Speculation has been rife as to why the senior royals have not yet visited the tot, with some royal experts calling the move “strange”.

Archie has already met the Queen and Prince Philip, while it’s believed Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was present at the birth.

However, speaking shortly after the tot’s birth, at an event at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, London, William revealed that he was “absolutely thrilled” for his brother.

He added: “[We are] obviously looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things have quietened down.”

In other Harry and Meghan news, it’s been reported that the Queen has given the new family a “suite of rooms” inside Buckingham Palace, which they will use as a London base.

The Duke and Duchess recently moved from a two-bedroom cottage at Kensingon Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, with a source telling the Daily Mail “it is standard procedure for royals living outside the capital”.
