Meghan and Harry hint at Archie’s first overseas trip in exciting announcement

Their first as a family

With the christening of baby Archie happening as soon as next week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are a busy couple.

Now Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced some more exciting news: they will undertake a tour of South Africa, their “first as a family”.

Writing on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official Instagram account, an official announcement read: “TRH The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited to announce that they have been asked to carry out a tour to Southern Africa this autumn.

“The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have requested a visit to South Africa as well as The Duke carrying out visits to Malawi and Angola. His Royal Highness will also do a short working visit to Botswana on route to the other countries.

“The Duke and Duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond.”

The message added: “This will be their first official tour as a family!”

The couple’s 8.8million followers were quick to share their opinions.

One said: “It’s gonna be the best tour ever!!!” while another gushed: “Archie’s first overseas trip is AFRICA.”

“Looking forward to seeing pics from this first trip with Archie,” one said.

With baby Archie’s christening expected to take place next week, it’s been suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could “buck tradition”.

According to royal commentator Camilla Tominey, the couple will have to follow “royal protocol” but could put their own signature twist on the special day.
