Meghan and Harry accused of ‘snubbing’ Prince William’s birthday

They didn't share a photo tribute on their official Instagram account

A rift between royal brothers William and Harry has been rumoured for over a year now.

It’s no secret that William is supposedly none too keen on Harry’s wife, former actress Meghan Markle, and that his disapproval has caused a divide between the typically close siblings.

And now in a perhaps telling move, both Harry and Meghan failed to wish William a happy 37th birthday on their official Instagram account.

While the newlyweds did so for the Queen and Prince Philip, they didn’t do the same for William on Friday, but instead commented a happy birthday on William’s shared Instagram account with Duchess Kate.

The comment simply read “Happy Birthday to the Duke of Cambridge!”

This formal statement comes in great contrast to the gushing photo tributes they posted for the Queen and Philip, and even the warm birthday messages they wrote for Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.

And one royal expert believes this move was “pretty rude” by both Harry and Meghan.

Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty Magazine, elaborated to the Sun Online: “I think it’s a snub if they don’t leave one for Prince William as they did for the Duke and for the Queen.

“If they don’t I think it’s pretty rude and will certainly be construed as purposeful.

“That is the trouble with Instagram, it becomes your slave.

“But it’s not as if it’s a cousin or a friend – it’s Harry’s big brother,” Ingrid added.

And of course the formal birthday messages comes just a day after it was announced that Harry and Meghan are leaving William and Kate’s charity.

Once nicknamed “the fab four,” William, Kate, Harry and Meghan were initially all involved in the Royal Foundation.

But Harry and Meghan have split from the organisation, and intend to establish their own charity.

They also moved from Kensington Palace earlier this year, and set up residence in Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage.
