Megan Barton Hanson has voiced her thoughts after her ex Wes Nelson denied the rumours that they are getting back together.
Wes, who came runner-up on Dancing On Ice last night, previously said a reunion is not on the cards with his former Love Island girlfriend, insisting “we’re still separated”.
Now, 24-year-old Megan has shared an emotional message to Instagram. She quoted Frida Kahlo and insisted that she wants honesty and deserves the “very best”.
Hours after 20-year-old Wes took second place on DOI last night, she wrote on Instagram: “At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can.” – Frida Kahlo 🌺 “You deserve the best, the very best, because you are one of the few people in this lousy world who are honest to themselves, and that is the only thing that really counts.” – Frida Kahlo 🌸.”
Clearly feeling reflective, Megan hinted that she was having a rough Monday and continued: “@fridakahlo is an icon of mine I LOVE her strength, she paved the way for honest, outspoken women long before it was “allowed”. She is a massive inspiration to me, allowing me to feel comfortable speaking my mind without editing myself for anyone.”
She added: “These are a couple of my favourite quotes. If your having a crappy Monday do a little research and I bet you fall in love with her just as much as me, this is just a glimpse into her powerful words. 🌼.”
Her deep post comes after Wes recently opened up about their separation, which happened in January – not long after he began skating on the show with Vanessa Bauer.
Wes told new! magazine: “We’re still separated and we’re not back together. We’ve spoken since, but not in that way. We’re on civil terms – before, it was not civil.”

When asked about a possible reunion he admitted that’s something they have never discussed, adding: “We’ve had absolutely no discussions on that whatsoever, so I wouldn’t be able to comment.”
Megan and Wes broke-up after Megan admitted she felt uncomfortable with the amount of hours he had to train with pro skater Vanessa.

On Loose Women today, Wes also confirmed that there was no romance between him and Vanessa, following ongoing rumours.
He also reiterated that he wants thing to be “civil” with Megan.
