EastEnders: Max and Rainie’s fake marriage

Everything isn't quite what it seems

There were more than a few raised eyebrows up and down the country when Max Branning revealed his new wife to be his former sister-in-law Rainie Cross last week.

And it becomes obvious that not everything is quite as it appears as cracks begin to show in their relationship.

Even for Max that’s some record.

They try to continue the facade that they’re in love but when a frustrated Rainie asks Max for some money, he tells her to get selling on the car lot.

Rainie then hears a hungover Robbie complaining about his job and has a brainwave.

She gives him a commission only trial selling cards and everyone is shocked when he actually does really well and is a hit with punters.

Has Robbie founds his true calling?

He’s left stunned though when newly-wed Rainie starts flirting with him and offers his ‘other ways’ for him to take his commission.

A gob-smacked Robbie declines her offer and takes the cash instead.

Meanwhile Max is thrown when he gets a call from the Social Worker telling him that his and Rainie’s appointment has moved to that day.

They try to play the perfect couple, but will it be enough to convince the social worker that their marriage is the real deal?
