Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan not planning to join Scientology

Are the golden couple planning to be best mates with Tom Cruise?

| Updated:

Are Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan looking to become Scientologists like Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Well, according to sensational newspaper reports, they are.

The pair, who got married last year in a civil ceremony, are said to have looked into the modern day religion and are fascinated by it. And who wouldn’t when it believes that members who live on Earth are reincarnated aliens who used to live on other planets!

The couple apparently think that getting involved with the celeb-endorsed movement, founded by the Science fiction author Ron L Hubbard, will help them go far in Hollywood.

Hmmm… Sounds like a bunch of baloney to us. But a close pal is supposed to have told the ever reliable Daily Star Sunday:

“Mark says that he’s never been a massively religious man, and obviously he and Michelle married in a civil ceremony, but Scientology fascinates him.

“He’s keen to learn more about it and how it works. He says it’s the ultimate networking tool. Mark said it’s not just who you know, it’s the network you’re in, and if it worked for Tom Cruise it would work for them.”

Er, okay!

Well, it looks like our hunch was right and the story is a load of bull, as a spokesperson for the couple have said the gorgeous couple have no intention of joining the Church of Scientology and have said, “It is completely untrue. Mark and Michelle are absolutely not considering Scientology.”

Of course, reps are always keen to dismiss rumours, so you just never know what the truth actually is.  But for now, we’ll have to believe they have no interest in the secretive religion whatsoever.

Instead, Mark and Michelle are planning a romantic Essex Christmas before Michelle heads out to South Africa again to start shooting another series of Our Girl for the BBC.
