Eamonn Holmes makes cheeky sex joke to Ruth Langsford

Oh, Eamonn!

During Friday’s This Morning, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford met a former sex addict, who explained how she needed sex constantly.

And Eamonn, 58, saw the opportunity to crack a saucy joke about his wife.

The presenting duo met sexual therapist Dr Thaddeus Birchard and Rebecca Barker, who said she previously wasn’t satisfied with having sex five times a day.

Introducing Rebecca to the show, Eamonn said: “We’re now going to meet a woman who has a sex addiction…”

“And no, it’s not my wife,” he then joked.

But his quips didn’t stop there as he pretended to put a card in his top pocket after the segment.

Curious to know what he was up to, Ruth asked her hubby: “What are you doing?”

“I’m just putting that sex addiction doctor’s card in my pocket,” Eamonn cheekily replied.

One viewer noticed Eamonn’s naughty joke and tweeted: “Sex Addiction @EamonnHolmes not my wife!! He lives in hope.”

Meanwhile, during the chat with Rebecca, Ruth asked the mum-of-three why she wanted to open up and talk about the condition.

“There is so much stigma attached to it,” she replied. “I feel that if it can happen to me then it could happen to anybody.”

Rebecca, 37, said her addiction lasted around three months but she “wasn’t really aware” it was an addiction.

“I was going through depression at the time and I was in a fragile state of mind,” Rebecca told the hosts. “I shut myself off to the outside world.

“Near the end [of my addiction], I felt like my whole body was craving [sex]. I felt very ashamed that it was all I could think about.”

Rebecca said she was having sex at least five times a day with her partner at the time, but that wasn’t enough.

Speaking about her former partner, Rebecca said: “He [loved it] at first. We worked together from home which was very useful.

“I only actually got relief from the obsessive thoughts during the act of sex,” she continued. “As soon as it finished, it was back on my mind again.”

“But did you enjoy it?” Eamonn asked Rebecca, to which she replied: “No. Before I had the addiction, sex with my partner was a pleasurable experience.

“But I didn’t find any pleasure during the addiction itself. It was like I had to have the hit.”

Rebecca said she has since spoken with a psychotherapist, who confirmed she did have a sex addiction.

She added that she believes treatment for the addiction should be available on the NHS.

Now that she’s overcome her addiction, Rebecca said she’s “back to normal” and sex is “not an obsession” for her any more.

“I have a perfectly normal sex life with my new partner,” she added.
