Former TOWIE cast member Lucy Mecklenburgh has revealed that the early stages of pregnancy are leaving her feeling “hungover” as she struggles with morning sickness.
The reality star, 28, told fans in her first pregnancy blog post that she was writing from the bathroom floor, where she had spent “most of the night” throwing up.
“I am SO tired,” she wrote. “Sleeping on a towel, on the bathroom floor, is actually possible and it’s not because I’m drunk (although I do feel like I’m hungover most of the time, just without the fun night before).

The model, who is expecting her first child with former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, said feeling ill has been the “first symptom” of carrying a child.
She continued: “Smells were making me super nauseous and I felt an overwhelming tiredness to go with it, which is what made me think, ‘Hmm maybe I could be pregnant!?!’
“Why the hell is it called MORNING SICKNESS!? I had suffered evening, all night and the morning just to top it off. It’s also made me realise that I need to work on my pelvic floor muscles a bit more. But apparently this is normal just another pregnancy treat I didn’t know about.”
Writing further, Lucy said she now tends to wake up between 4am and 5am from a mix of hunger and nausea.
When she goes to the kitchen to get herself some toast and a glass of juice, she uses “humming” to distract from the sickness and holds her nose to block out all smells that set her off, such as the food in the fridge and flowers.

Lucy and Ryan revealed their baby news with a sweet post on Instagram at the end of August.
In a photo shared on Lucy’s Instagram to mark her birthday, she was pictured opening presents and holding up a tiny baby grow, writing in the caption: “Best birthday present I’ve ever had. Love you @ryanthomas84.”
Ryan then shared a cute video on his own Instagram of them revealing the news to Scarlett, the 10-year-old daughter he shares with his ex and fellow Corrie star Tina O’Brien.

Tina later shared a series of cryptic posts for her own social media followers and fans were convinced it had something to do with Ryan and Lucy’s baby news.
Days after he shared the video of Scarlett finding out she’s getting another little half-sibling, Tina posted a quote that read, “Don’t always trust what you see on social media. Even salt looks like sugar” although the post has since been deleted from her Instagram.
Another cryptic message she shared read: “Don’t waste your time with explanations.”
