Love Island star in ‘secret talks’ with Coronation Street

Wait, what?

So this is interesting, according to reports in The Sun, one half of Love Island 2017’s winning couple, Amber Davies, is in talks with Corrie bosses about a possible role on the cobbles.

Amber has said a few times that she’d love a role in the soap and it looks like her dream could be a step closer to coming true.

The Sun says that Amber, who has split with fellow winner Kem Cetinay, has been in secret talks with Corrie’s casting directors and producers.

It’s not as bizarre as it seems as the reality star is actually trained in theatre, dance and singing – so she’s qualified for an acting role.

A source told the paper: “Amber had a secret meeting with the casting director on Corrie last week and things were looking promising. Her acting agent had set up the discussion and she came away from the mini-audition full of confidence and bosses certainly liked her.

“She’s been determined to get into acting ever since winning ‘Love Island’ so it felt like a positive move.”

Gorgeous Amber, who wowed this week at the NTAs, previously said of her soap dreams: “I definitely would love to go into a soap. I’ve trained for three years in musical theatre and that is one of my biggest dreams.

“I would love to use my talent and passion to do what I want and to have a long, nice, future in what I love to do.

“There’s a lot more to me than just being on Love Island and, of course, I will always be grateful because it gave me that platform and I’ve experienced some incredible things since coming out and that will never ever go but I’m trying to work as hard as I can.”

We could totally see Amber as a new member of the Connor clan and the Rovers will be down a barmaid when Cath Tyldesley quits her role as Eva Price later this year.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
