Love Island’s voting percentages are FASCINATING

You'll never believe how close it was

The British public hasn’t been this united by a decision since… er, well, it’s been a while.

On Monday night we voted for Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer to win Love Island 2018 – a choice that seemed like a foregone conclusion from day one of this year’s series.

And now the official voting figures have confirmed it.

ITV have revealed the numbers, and it seems that nearly 80% of us voted for the loveable former barmaid Dani and pen salesman, Jack.

Between July 29 and 30, the couple received an overwhelming 79.66% of the public vote.

But as for the three runners-up, it turns out it was a really close call.

On Monday evening, presenter Caroline Flack revealed in a dramatic and emotional live final that Laura Anderson and Paul Knops had come second, beating Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel who came in third.

It also revealed that Dr Alex George was popular with viewers.

In fact, had he not dumped Alexandra Cane with days to go before the end, they could’ve been a contender for second place.

The news comes just as winner Jack revealed that he wants to propose to his new girlfriend.

In an interview with The Sun, Jack said: “We’re getting married next year, 100 per cent.

“Like my mum said to me so many times, ‘When you know about someone, you just know.’ And now I know what she’s talking about. I just know that that’s what we want to do.”

Speaking about their future, Dani added: “It ain’t about planning when we’re gonna have kids. It’s about enjoying a bit of time outside the villa now.

“And when we’re both ready, we will talk about it. Right now I’m just happy to be with him.”
