Love Island’s Malin Andersson hospitalised just one week after her baby is buried

Four-week-old daughter passed away in January

Bereaved mother Malin Andersson has been hospitalised just days after burying her baby daughter.

The former reality TV contestant, who took part in the 2015 series of ITV2’s Love Island, revealed to her Twitter followers yesterday she was laid up with a mystery illness.

Posting an image of her arm, apparently connected to a drip, the 26-year-old commented: “Greatest year ever. Not. When will it end?

Back in hospital but for me this time. What a great life I live.”

The update came less than a day after Malin revealed on Instagram that she and her “ultimate Valentine” boyfriend Tom Kemp have been “absolute messes” following the sad passing of their four-week-old child.

Concerned followers were quick to offer their best wishes and sympathies on Twitter, with some suggesting she may find some comfort in bereavement therapy.

“Hoping so much that you are able to mend your heart a little soon, and that life gives you a break,” tweeted one supporter.

“Give this beautiful girl a break,” said another.

A third echoed that thought, adding: “Hope life starts treating you better soon.”

Another fan recommended Malin should focus on ‘the positive’.

“Life can seem so cruel and unfair at times as you deal with so many ups and downs but the most important thing is to remain positive,” they advised.

Malin previously asked followers to keep the baby in their prayers as the tot battled for her life in intensive care.

Baby Consy, laid to rest last week, died following complications after being born seven weeks premature just before Christmas.

She was treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital and survived for nearly a month after arriving on December 23.

Grief-stricken Malin announced the heartbreaking loss in an emotional post last month, saying Consy – named after Malin’s mum who died in November 2017 – had been ‘wanted’ by her grandmother in heaven.

“Completely in love with you.. and my Mum just wanted you to be with her,” the tribute read.

“Your time wasn’t ready yet. Mummy loves you. I stayed with you each day…

“You opened your eyes one last time for me and I saw those beautiful big brown eyes. I’m so sorry I couldn’t do anymore.

“Go be with grandma Consy. My angel. Rest in peace.”
