If you’d been thinking recently that TV wasn’t making you wince, cringe and die inside a bit, then you could do worse than watching Friday’s Loose Women.
When the panel confronted Chris From Love Island (that’s his surname, correct) about the leaked What’sApp messages that Katie Price had sent him and he shared. And Katie texted in with her thoughts. DYING, HERE.
Kay Adams – who co-presents alongside Katie – asked why Chris decided to share them with the masses, and get into the ongoing ‘Were these messages flirty or not’ debate.
“Basically I’m one of them people…In my opinion those messages were flirty,” he said.
“She doesn’t actually know me, and I have a girlfriend.
“To repeatedly message me when they don’t know me, that’s flirting. I’ve got a girlfriend.
“She basically accused me of lying, but I had proof.
“It was in the heat of moment, and maybe it wasn’t right thing to do, but I don’t regret it.”

So Chris – whose TV show Straight Outta Love Island starts this weekend – went on Loose Women when Katie was in the middle of breaking up with her husband Kieran.
She flirted with him and he looked a bit like he was 15 (actual age: 22) and had just got his first glimpse of a bra.

In an interview with OK!, Chris then accused her of flirting with him via the messages, and Katie denied it. So Chris went all 2017 and revealed the messages in public.
Katie then denied it, posting on social media: “Met chrishughes_22 once on Loose Women and with oliviajade_att at the football. Sorry to disappoint you all no flirty texts got sent!”
But Chris absolutely mugged her off – sure, we’re back in Love Island speak – replying: “Okay sweetheart. Being pied shouldn’t make you bitter.”
And then he posted the messages.
THEN he went on Loose Women – with the caveat that he would only appear if Katie didn’t – and discussed what had happened.
“Chris outright refused to go on the show if Katie was there,” a source told The Sun.
“To him, it’s not hiding, it’s just avoiding unnecessary aggravation.
“He just wants to focus on promoting the new show with Kem.”
He also said that he’d shown the messages to his girlfriend Liv from the beginning. Which is probably a good idea because we’ve, er, seen a tiny glimpse of Liv’s temper. Wouldn’t mess.
“I was a little bit gobsmacked,” Chris told Heat magazine about the messages. “It went from Instagram DMs and then she somehow got hold of my mobile number.”
“[Olivia] was just a bit annoyed. You would be wouldn’t you? It’s a bit much. I ignored them all.”
