Former Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey have announced they’re engaged!

The couple, who have seven-month-old son Freddie-George together, revealed they returned to the Love Island villa where Nathan popped the question.

Nathan revealed his incredibly romantic proposal involved a “little treasure hunt around the villa to different places which meant something” to them.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Nathan said: “I brought her back to where we met and took her on a little treasure hunt around the villa to different places which meant something to us.

“Finally, I blindfolded her, led her to the pool and got down on one knee.”

Reminiscing on the proposal, Cara added: “It was so romantic that he proposed in the Love Island villa. This is where we met – we’ve come full circle.”

Nathan revealed the ring is a two carat Asscher cut.

The loved-up couple are already planning on where they will wed, however, they have slightly different ideas.

While Cara would like to tie the knot somewhere hot like Portugal, Nathan wants to stay in the UK.

Nathan explained that they have “elderly grandparents” so they would have to “think about the travelling”.

Cara and Nathan met on the second series of Love Island back in 2016, and went on to scoop the grand prize of £50,000.

However, they split less than a year later, before Cara then confirmed the following month that she was pregnant with Nathan’s child.

But, just before Christmas last year, the reality stars reconciled their differences and confirmed they were back together.

Earlier this year, the couple opened up about how much stronger their relationship is now following their split.

Nathan told OK! mag in April: “Having Fred completely changed our relationship for the better.”

And Nathan also said at the time that Cara is “marriage material”.

When asked if he had any plans to marry Cara, Nathan said: “We’re very string at the minute, you’ll just have to watch this space.

“She’s marriage material, put it that way!”
