Love Island couple announce pregnancy after splitting

Was a baby too much for them to handle?

| Updated:

Love Island stars Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey split up 6 weeks ago, but have now revealed that they have a baby on the way.

The news will come as a huge surprise as they made their break up very public.

Cara, 26, and Nathan, 24, went their separate ways in April – apparently just two weeks after finding out Cara was pregnant.

It seems that the pregnancy news might have been too much for the couple to take on.

Cara has said that they have no plans of getting back together despite their impending new arrival.

“It’s a shame and a sad situation,” she told OK!

“I know a lot of people will think, ‘well you’re going to have a baby together so just stay together’ – but we’re not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple.”

Cara’s best friend and fellow Love Islander Olivia Buckland has shared a sweet message on Twitter. “Forever proud of my @Miss_Delahoyde ❤”.

The gorgeous couple found love on Love Island last summer and won the show, but announced their split on social media after around nine months together.

Cara took to Twitter to share the sad news, and wrote: “Me & nath have split… sometimes love just isn’t enough, but what will be will be, thank you for everyone’s support lately”.

Nathan also did the same, but on Instagram alongside a photo of him on his own.

“The worst feeling in the world is when you know that you both love each other, but still you can’t be together!

“Me and Cara have split, we’ve had the summer of our lives together, but sadly come to an end, I wish her the best for the future”.

A source told The Sun that they are still being civil with one another. “They stayed really amicable and will definitely do all they can to be friendly”, they said.
