Love Island: Theo’s criminal past REVEALED

He was convicted in 2013 for theft in a kebab shop

| Updated:

He’s stolen plenty of women’s hearts with his sculpted body and gleaming smile – but it turns out that isn’t the only thing that Love Island hunk Theo Campbell has pinched.

The Team GB athlete from Bath was once arrested and charged for stealing a woman’s handbag.

Theo, 25, was on a night out in the city in 2013 when he took the bag from a kebab shop while the owner was looking the other way.

Said a witness: “A couple were looking at the menu and he grabbed it and ran out, but police arrested him.

“For a top athlete, he didn’t make a very quick getaway.”

The 400m sprinter, who is hoping to compete at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, claimed that he’d found the bag, but the courts were having none of it.

He was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £60.50 compensation.

And Theo isn’t the only member of his family who’s been in trouble with the law – his mum has too.

Sarah Dawes, 46, was jailed for 12 weeks for criminal damage and assault in 2011.

Theo himself has never been arrested for assault – although fellow Love Island contestant Camilla Thurlow, 27, says she was “almost knocked out” by his “massive” package when he performed a striptease for her last night.

The sexy dance was part of a Magic Mike-themed routine the boys were asked to perform as a task.

Love Island will be reaching its climax (pardon the pun) on July 24.

The winner will receive £50,000.
