Camilla and Jonny’s Love Island relationship hits a snag over feminism debate

The pair looked smitten on yesterday's show but tonight's a different story

It’s been a tumultuous 24 hours in the villa after Camilla Thurlow and Jonny Mitchell’s relationship has taken a turn for the worst.

The couple, who have both grown to be very fond of one another, had a conversation about feminism and equality, (as you do) but it didn’t end well.

Camilla, 27, walked into the dressing room looking upset, and she tells the girls: “We just got onto a subject that probably wasn’t the right thing to be discussing necessarily.”

Not giving any details of the topic, she began to cry as Marcel looked concerned for her.

Camilla and Jonny shared a kiss the night before, and were seen looking cosy in bed too.

“I do, I like him. But I’m not ready to say that really to him,” the humanitarian explained in the Beach Hut.

For Jonny, the feeling was entirely mutual: “I do fancy her. I know that it’s a bit of a slow one with her but I’m not in any rush, I’m happy to sort of stick with it. The loyalty I’ve got with her for taking a punt on me is just overwhelming anyway.”

Later that evening, it all changed.

The discussion began when Camilla asked whether he would pay for the girl on a date, to which Jonny responded: “Yeah, I’d pay. With my ex for five years, I don’t remember her paying for a thing. She did offer, but in the end she just stopped offering.”

Camilla was shocked and said: “Oh gosh, but surely at the beginning it’s better to go halves because you don’t know how it’s going to pan out?”

“I don’t think so. I feel almost emasculated if a girl paid”, he responded.

“Really? I’d feel so awkward if I didn’t pay half”, Camilla added.

Voice over for the show, Iain Stirling thinks Camilla and Jonny are a really good match.

“I’m intrigued and like Camilla. I can’t work her out yet but find her fascinating”, he said.

Hilariously adding: “I don’t think she actually knew what Love Island was. I think she was just in Africa for ages, I don’t think she knew.”

The Scottish comedian also thinks that Jonny is “minted”.

“I’ve got a sneaking suspicious that Jonny is a millionaire. I bet he owns a start-up company, or a double-glazing firm and he’s actually minted!”, he said.

If that’s the case, stick with him Camilla!

Tune in tonight at 9pm on ITV2 for all their relationship drama.
