Louise Redknapp back in training for West End show after horror fall

She smashed up her chin and broke her wrist

Louise Redknapp has revealed she is on the road to recovery after being forced to pull out of West End show 9 to 5.

The 44-year-old, who was “heart broken” to pull out of the show before opening night, after she was rushed to hospital following a horrific fall  to have 10 stitches in her chin as well as treatment for a fractured wrist.

Looking positive, Louise took to Instagram to share that she was back in the gym to prepare for her return to the musical.

Alongside a picture of her with her personal trainer, she wrote: “Back with @bradleysimmonds today a very light workout concentrating on core to keep motivated for @9to5themusical.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing star also took to stories to update fans on her health. She said: “I’ve just seen the doctor, chin is healing really well. Arm’s still quite sore.”

She continued: “On my way to do a quick read-through for 9 to 5, so I don’t lose what I had, but I wanted to say a massive thank you for all your support.”

Fans were quick to wish her well, with one writing: “@louiseredknapp hope you get back to the stage pronto I’ve booked tickets for March purely to see you.”

While another added: “Thinking of you Louise and hope you’re back to work very soon. You must be missing it.”

Louise was forced to pull out of playing Violet Newstand in the musical after taking a serious tumble in the street earlier this month.

She said at the time: “Following my doctor’s orders – they have said I will be ok but as they say in the theatre ‘the show must go on’ and I wish the rest of the fabulous cast an amazing opening night and I will be back on that stage for 9-5 before you know it.”

Producers of the show, which is based on the Dolly Parton film of the same name, said they expected Louise to return to the show in March or April.

The show, which runs at the savoy Theatre from January 8 to August 31, also stars Brian Conley, Natalie McQueen and Bonnie Langford.
