Former EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton recently told Lorraine she’d be keen for a return to the show where she started out.
And Walford newcomer Lee Ryan has also spoken out about wanting her back on the show.
So is it happening?
Apparently not, according to Louisa who has said she won’t be returning to EastEnders as Ruby Allen – because she hasn’t been asked.
The actress had expressed an interest in making her soap comeback last month. And Blue singer Lee, who will be joining the show soon and is an old friend of Louisa’s, had also suggested that he’d love to see Ruby back in the Square – as a love interest for his character!
But Louisa, who played gangster Johnny Allen’s daughter for 18 months between 2005 and 2006, has admitted she hasn’t been asked to return.

“No, they haven’t (asked me),” she told BANG Showbiz. “I’d never say no but it’s not really my choice or decision – it depends what they would do with my character.
“Obviously I’ve been out of the show long enough so there is definitely room for her to go back but I don’t really know at the moment.”
And she revealed her pal Lee, who will soon be joining EastEnders as wide boy ‘Woody’ Woodward, had been in touch about the show.
“Lee texted me a while ago saying ‘I’m in talks with EastEnders, what do you think?’ I said ‘Yeah, it’d be great for you.’ And yeah, he did mention about bringing my character back as his girlfriend.”
Even though she left the BBC One soap nearly 11 years ago, it’s clearly a question that won’t go away.
Louisa, currently playing Rizzo in a touring production of Grease alongside The Wanted’s Tom Parker, was also quizzed on a possible comeback during a chat with Lorraine Kelly.
“I could go back – I’m not dead!” she told Lorraine.

“I left in the back of a taxi. I could go back but there are no family members there.
“But Stacey is still in the show, and we were best friends, so there’s always the possibility.
“I loved my time [on EastEnders] and it was my launching pad.”
Louisa went on to star in Strictly Come Dancing and The Bill.
