Louis Tomlinson hints he’s quitting The X Factor

The singer isn't a fan of Simon Cowell's new plans for the show

Louis Tomlinson has hinted he’s already thinking about stepping down from X Factor judging duties.

Simon Cowell recently revealed his plans to shake up the upcoming series, and feature celebrities and memorable past contestants rather than hopeful members of the public.

But one person not quite convinced with the new plans is Louis, who said he signed up to mentor ordinary people, not stars.

The former One Direction singer, 27, confessed that it’s “kind of tempting” to quit the series since he won with Dalton Harris.

He also said he’s not spoken to music mogul Simon once since the show wrapped.

“Since the show I haven’t even spoken to Simon,” he said. “We’re just kind of giving each other some space because we’d seen [each other] every single day.

“To be honest, I don’t really know what the tail end of my year looks like anyway, but personally, I think it’s about the public, you know what I mean? I think it should be about the public.”

Louis added that he might not be available at that time anyway because it could clash with his music, which is his main focus.

“My priority this year is to get the album out at the end of this year. So it might clash, it might clash,” he added to The Dan Wootton Interview podcast.

In the same chat, the singer also insisted 1D will eventually reunite, though he wasn’t sure if Zayn would be back for the much-discussed reunion.

He said: “I mean that’s a more difficult question then are we going to get back together one day, because I would say with all certainty that we are, but as a five it’s a different question and it’s a hard question to answer.”

Last year, Zayn admitted that his relationship with his former bandmates had “broken apart”.

He revealed: “People take it different ways – especially when there are five different personalities. The relationships had broken apart.

“That’s just the way it is. People move on, people grow apart, people grow up.”
