TV presenter speaks out about her weight loss

Lorraine Kelly has lost loads of weight over the past few years and looks absolutely fantastic.

According to reports, the ITV daytime presenter is now a size 10 – down from a size 16 not too long ago.

However, Lorraine has admitted that she once went a little too far with her weight loss, becoming “too thin” while training for the London Marathon in 2016.

Lorraine wrote about her struggles with maintaining the optimum weight in her latest column for OK! magazine.

The mum-of-one said: “During my cardigan years, I was a size 16 and I wasn’t supposed to be. We have models on our show who are a size 16, but they are perfect. I think everybody has a size they’re supposed to be.

“When you’re thinner, you don’t look well, and when you’re bigger you don’t feel as good. I’m meant to be a size 10 to 12.

“When I was training for the Marathon, I got too thin and I did not look good. I didn’t feel good either. It’s all about balance.”

In the interview, Lorraine credited her 24-year-old daughter Rosie with steering her away from “frumpiness”.

But the presenter has also spoken about how exercise and “portion control” have helped her to shed the pounds.

Promoting her DVD Brand New You in 2017, she told This Morning: “I really look forward to my classes, and with the new DVD we wanted to show what a class was like.

“It’s great going to keep fit, but mentally it also makes me feel better.”

And the telly host admitted that she occasionally has to question her husband, TV cameraman Steve Smith, on the food he serves up.

She continued: “I don’t think diets work. It’s all about portion control.

“My husband cooks for me and sometimes I ask: ‘How many people are coming round?’

“Portion control and not snacking so much are important, as well as being sensible.”
