Linda Nolan looking for love again on a dating network for people who have lost loved ones

Singing star has been widowed for eleven years

| Updated:

Heartbroken Linda Nolan has only kissed one man in over a decade, having been widowed when she lost her beloved husband Brian to skin cancer.

Married for 26 years before his tragic death, singing star Linda is now ready to meet someone special.

But worried potential suitors may be most interested in her fame, she has been reluctant to search out a new companion.

“It’s difficult, you say you’re one of The Nolans and then you think, are they going out with you, or because you’re in show business?” she told the Mirror.

However, with her 60th birthday approaching, Linda relishes meeting a man who can become a great friend – and maybe something more.

Recommended a Saga dating site for those who have lost partners, it seems the prospect of romance is already bringing her happiness.

She told the news outlet: “The thought of it makes me feel 16 again!”

And although Linda – who beat breast cancer once only for a tumour to be found later on her hip – is not against the idea of a sex life, she admits it is not her priority.

“I don’t really miss sex. What I miss is a soulmate, someone to watch a movie with, and having a hug,” she said.

“I’m not saying I wouldn’t have sex, but it isn’t the be-all-and-end-all. It would be nice to turn up to a ball on a man’s arm.”

Sadly one man she does have a soft spot for is already attached: ex Strictly judge Len Goodman.

Len may not be on the market, but Loose Women panellist Linda is determined to enjoy every moment she has – and won’t let her inoperable condition hold her back.

She said: “Although my cancer is contained, it’s still sitting on my hip. It just makes me think, I’m going to make the most of every day.”
