Liam Payne shares sweet message to Cheryl on US Mother's Day

The star expressed his love for Cheryl in the post on Sunday

One direction star Liam Payne has shared a sweet Mother's Day message to his "two very special ladies" -  his mum and Cheryl.

Mother's Day was celebrated in the US on Sunday and the singer has been spending a lot of time over there working on his music career.

The star expressed his love for them both in the message on Instagram.

Liam, 23, wrote: "Happy Mother’s Day America and to my two very special ladies mum and Cheryl. I love you both very much," alongside a selfie.

Of course fans were quick to comment on the snap with one writing: "Awwww liam you are so cute and Cheryl is so lucky."

Another added: "Aww cute!! Happy Mother's Day to both of them!!"

Meanwhile the star has also opened up about how becoming a father has changed him.

Liam revealed since welcoming his baby boy, Bear, into the world he is much more emotional.

Happy Mother’s Day America and to my two very special ladies mum and Cheryl.

The former One Direction star told Rollacoaster magazine: "I’m quite good at holding it together but I have got a lot worse of late.

"Adverts and things make me cry.

"I think I’m getting more emotional as time goes by, especially with everything that’s happening in my life at the moment."

Liam and Cheryl have kept their little tot out of the limelight and haven't yet shared any pics of him.

But Liam has gave fans an idea of what their baby boy looks like - and he sounds super cute.

But more recently Liam admitted he wouldn't have picked the name Bear for his son.

He said: "I'm into more traditional names. The Mrs... she's into more unique, original names that people will remember.

"It was her choice. I wasn't going to fight her about it. She's the one who's done all the work, isn't she?"
