Liam Payne reveals that a house guest left Cheryl terrified while she was pregnant

Spooky goings-on at couple's LA mansion...

| Updated:

Over the years, Cheryl has witnessed some pretty frightening things on The X Factor: tone-deaf contestants, dodgy hairstyles (we’re looking at you, Wagner), not to mention Dermot’s attempts at dancing.

But for sheer terror, none of those things come close to what she experienced while she was pregnant with her son, Bear.

According to her boyfriend – and Bear’s father – Liam Payne, he and Cheryl were terrorised by a GHOST when they were staying at their LA mansion.

And the One Direction singer revealed that Cheryl avoided the spirit in case it had a negative effect on her baby.

Liam, 24, told The Sun: “We’ve got a really lovely place and when Cheryl was pregnant we were out there in LA, but we’ve got a ghost in our top bedroom.”

He claimed that a woman approached Cheryl’s mum and his housekeeper while they were out, and told them the ghost was a man called Alan who’d filmed the helicopter shots for the film Jurassic Park.

“I’ve never seen him but I knew these lights were coming on at three o’clock in the morning in this house,” Liam insisted.

“Cheryl wouldn’t stay in the top room, being pregnant with the baby.

“[She] was like: ‘I’m not sleeping upstairs.’ So we slept downstairs in the cinema room. First World problems.”

Speaking of strange things, Liam also revealed this week that he can read Cheryl’s mind.

Speaking at the KISS House Party Live, he said of the couple’s son Bear: “He sleeps in our room now, and I can feel when Cheryl wants me to look after him in the night even if she doesn’t say it.

“He’s teething at the moment, so there’s a little bit more crying than usual.”

Liam might have to look after Bear a lot more if the rumours are true about Cheryl making a full-time return to The X Factor.

She was seen in last weekend’s shows, assisting Simon Cowell at the judges’ houses stage.
