An unlikely celebrity pairing appears to have cropped up, after One Direction star Liam Payne has been spotted exchanging flirtatious Instagram comments with model Naomi Campbell.
Things kicked off on Tuesday when Liam posted a moody shot of himself to Instagram.

Naomi then popped into the comments with a sweet message saying: “Beautiful Soul,” and adding a red heart emoji.
The One Direction star replied to her comment, saying “Takes one to know one.”
Liam then returned the favour yesterday, when Naomi posted a selfie from backstage at the Louis Vuitton runway show.
He commented “Perfection in a person… don’t give me those eyes,” with a collection of emojis including a red rose and blowing a kiss.
The unlikely pair were together in Ghana over New Year’s – with the model sharing a video of Liam being taught to Shaku and Gwara Gwara by actress Eku Edewor.
At 25, the pop star – who has a son with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl – is 23 years Naomi’s junior.
Fans have now taken to twitter, with many wondering if Liam and Naomi are a couple.
“Never in a million years would I have thought THE Liam Payne and THE Naomi Campbell would cross paths romantically,” one fan tweeted.
Another said: “Wait hold tf up is Naomi Campbell dating Liam Payne…” while another tweeted: “Naomi Campbell and Liam Payne??? The simulation is glitching for sure.”

Liam split from ex Cheryl last year following the birth of their son, Bear, in 2017.

Meanwhile Naomi was rumoured to have previously dated grime singer Skepta.
