Liam Payne has opened up about life with his “dream girl” Cheryl.
For the first time, the One Direction singer has spoken publicly about his relationship with the star and discussed how he had adored his pregnant pop star girlfriend for years – even before they had met.
Cheryl and Liam have been dating for over a year and are about to have their first child together any day.
But details of their relationship have been kept private until now.
In an interview with Rollacoaster magazine, Liam spoke about what it’s like to be involved with the woman he lusted after back when he was an ordinary teenager in Wolverhampton.
“This is the thing. In a non-cliché way, it’s weird waking up every day and literally living out your dream. You wake up in the most beautiful places,” he said.
“Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world and she’s absolutely amazing.
“She’s been my dream girl since I was younger. She’s so ace.”
Liam and Girls Aloud star Cheryl – who is ten years his senior – first met in 2011, when she was a judge on The X Factor and he auditioned in front of the panel.
During the competition he went on to meet Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik and the five were put together and went on to become the biggest boy band on the planet.
Cheryl had her own years of pop success with Girls Aloud, bagging number one albums, winning Brit Awards and playing sell-out stadium tours.
“She is a wonderful, wonderful person and it’s amazing to have someone who can relate to so much of things — someone who’s taken greater steps than me,” Liam said.
“Her solo career was amazing. She’s been in the industry for 14 years now.
“She fully supports me. We’re super happy. It’s a very personal, precious time for us. I’m still learning. I’m only 23.”
