Former One Direction star Liam Payne has revealed he couldn’t believe Cheryl didn’t give him a standing ovation after his audition on The X Factor in 2010.

The star jokingly admitted he is “still angry” at Cheryl choosing to stay in her seat despite all the other judges standing up.

The star auditioned for the show for a second time seven years ago with his rendition of Cry Me A River.

Speaking on Heat Radio, he said: “I got a standing ovation from everyone except for Cheryl, which I thought was hilarious.

“She said she was having a row with Simon because he should have stood up for somebody else, so she didn’t stand up for me. But I’m still, I’m angry about that.”

Chezza and Liam became an item earlier last year and have since welcomed their baby boy Bear into the world.

Liam recently referred to Cheryl as his “wife” in a radio interview sparking speculation that the two have secretly tied the knot.

One of the presenters jokingly asked if Liam had travelled to Los Angeles just to go to In-N-Out Burger, after the star admitted he ate as much fast food as he could after arriving in the States.

He replied: “Yeah, exactly. I left my wife and child at home and I was straight out to In-N-Out Burger.”

Meanwhile former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl has finally broken her Twitter silence since giving birth back in March.

Writing to her 6.29 million Twitter followers the star said: “#LiamPayne #STRIPTHATDOWN this is an emoji test not a personal request.”

Her devoted fans went into a frenzy over Cheryl’s tweet with one writing: “Omg I love you. Best tweet of the day.”

Another tweeted: “Hi how are you?! We’ve missed you!!!!”

And it seems the pair are starting to open up about their relationship more on social media after keeping their personal lives out of the limelight for so long.

Singer Liam shared a sweet message to Cheryl on US Mothers’ Day.

The star wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day America and to my two very special ladies mum and Cheryl. I love you both very much,” alongside a selfie.

One fan wrote: “So cute Liam!”

“Awwwwww so CUTE,” said another.
