Lena Dunham has come under fire from social media users after a tweet she posted was branded as racist.

The Girls actress posted a controversial tweet back in 2010, that has now resurfaced.

She wrote: “Just found my ‘creativity journal’ from 2005. It begins: ‘I dreamed I was a prostitute and that I molested a little African American rodent’.

What was she thinking?!

The shocking post has come back to haunt her, as followers took to Twitter to blast her for her comment.

One wrote: “She is seriously one of the worst form of humans”.

Another added: “I guess I live under a rock but how does Lena Dunham get away with being racist? Someone explain the whole story.”

That’s not the only shocking tweet of Lena’s to resurface.

Many users were left angered after another tweet from 2011 was dug up, where she made a comment about Asian men.

The tweet read: “An uncool thought to have: “is that guy walking the dark behind me a rapist? Never mind, he’s Asian.”

“Wow Lena way to deny Asian men’s agency”, one tweeted.
