Laura Whitmore gushes over Love Island funnyman Iain Stirling: “My best boyfriend”

Loved-up couple have been dating for several months now

Laura Whitmore made her feelings for Iain Stirling very clear as she took to Instagram to gush about him yesterday.

The Irish TV presenter couldn’t resist letting her 533,000 followers know just how much she thinks of the Scottish comedian.

Posting a snap on Instagram of Iain on a boat with Eoghan McDermott, Laura wrote alongside it: “My best ‘boy’ friend and my best ‘boyfriend’ being total dudes. They are both very good at being funny in a small dark room where no one can see that they both are beauts!”

Iain, 30, provides the hilarious voiceovers on Love Island UK, while Eoghan provides the voiceover for Love Island Australia – and both men are clearly having a whale of a time.

As they took a break from writing funny one liners, the two men relaxed on their very own boat in Alcudia, Spain.

Eoghan also shared the snap on his page and captioned it: “Voices of @loveisland & @loveislandau unite! The Splinter to my Leonardo!

“The sexiest voice in the land. Boats & beers with @iaindoesjokes in Mallorca today. Serenade me to sleep with your gravelly growl. Technically we rescued another boat today so we have the freedom of the city & you’re all invited.

“Jokes aside, this guy turned what was supposed to be a straight boring “John is talking to Jane” type voice over into the beating heart of the show & given us licence to take the absolute mick in Oz. Mega respect. Big up @matt.lovkis for shooting our sexy calendar.”

Iain and Laura, 33, first met each other back in 2017 and their friendship soon turned into romance.

During a recent appearance on The Chris Ramsey Show, Iain said he doesn’t mind that people say Laura is better looking than him – because he agrees with them.

“I don’t mind it, because it just means I’ve done better haven’t I?” he said. “I’ve got someone who’s like me, but much, much better. And Laura’s got someone who’s like her, but much worse.

“I think I’ve done quite well out of it, but I’m dead happy because she’s lovely and stuff,” the funnyman added.

And Laura was more than happy to shed some light on how she and Iain went from being just friends to lovers.

Spilling the beans, the former Strictly Come Dancing star said: “I think the first time I met him was at the Children’s BAFTAs. I was presenting an award and he won an award, so I met him there.

“I don’t know if we were in other relationships but I was just friendly with him. That was before the last series of Love Island.”

She continued: “So we were just mates, and we were friendly for a while before it developed into something more, but we didn’t tell anyone for ages.

“Again, you don’t really know until you decide and you don’t want everyone knowing your business so we decided to keep it quiet as much as possible.”
