Kym Marsh has joked Coronation Street co-star Antony Cotton is “very pleased with himself” for introducing her to new boyfriend Scott Ratcliff.
The soap star began dating Army Major Scott following her split from long-time boyfriend Matt Baker in April.
In her new column for OK! Magazine, the actress, 42, gushed over her relationship with Scott and said Antony had “done a good job” matching them.
Kym and Scott met up with Antony and his partner, Peter Eccleston, at a recent charity ball.

She wrote in her column: “Antony was the one who set Scott and I up in the first place and he’s very pleased with himself as he can see how happy we both are.
“He’s done a good job as Scott’s great fun and I feel like I can truly be myself with him.
“The four of us left at around midnight and ended up dancing in our finest at New York New York in Manchester’s Gay Village until the early hours.”
Kym also lavished praise on Scott, calling him “wonderfully supportive” at the charity ball which raised money and awareness for families who have lost a child.
She tragically lost son Archie in 2009 when he was born 18 weeks early.
Kym wrote: “Child bereavement is obviously something that’s very close to my heart, so it was an emotional night and I shed a few tears, but it was good to have Scott by my side.
“He’s a wonderfully supportive boyfriend and I’m a very lucky girl.”

Kym is also mum to daughter Polly, seven, with Hollyoaks star ex-husband Jamie Lomas and son David, 23, and daughter Emilie, 21, from a previous relationship.

Although Scott has accompanied Kym to a couple of red carpet events, she’s stressed that she’s keen to keep their relationship as private as she can, especially as Scott does not want or seek the limelight.
Scott serves in the Parachute Regiment in Scotland.
