Kirsty Gallacher slurs words on air before collapsing

Sky presenter rushed unconscious to hospital

Poor Kirsty Gallacher had a terribly traumatic ordeal after being rushed to hospital after collapsing while presenting.

The Sky Sports News presenter was suffering “extreme exhaustion mixed with a viral infection”.

On Tuesday, while Kirsty was working, viewers noticed that she was “slurring” her words and “struggling” to get through her segment.

Some viewers even pointed out that she had been out on the town with her co-workers the night before.

Just 18 minutes into the hour-long show, Kirsty failed to reappear alongside her co-host Jim White.

Sources close to the star said she was rushed to West Middlesex University Hospital after passing out in a corridor in the studios.

How scary!

She was then reportedly treated for exhaustion and a virus and left the same evening. Phew! At least she wasn’t kept in over Christmas.

A friend told The Sun: “Kirsty was in a bad way. She was unconscious for a long time and doesn’t remember being in the ambulance.”

Meanwhile a source added: “She was just feeling terrible on her way to work. She nearly fainted in make-up and thought the adrenaline of the show would see her through.

“But it quickly became apparent that she wasn’t OK. Doctors think it’s extreme exhaustion mixed with a viral infection.”

The star took to Twitter to share her thanks for all of the messages she had received.

“Thankyou for all your kind messages, feeling bit better, still not 100%. Being ill on live TV is horrid experience…..”

“….thank you to @Westmidhospital for your brilliant care. On the mend & hope to back on @SkySportsNewsHQ asap.”

Her spokesperson wanted to clarify that she hadn’t been drinking: “She categorically was not drunk.

“Blood and urine tests at hospital showed no alcohol in her system.”
