Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona was left reeling at the weekend after the tragic death of her ex-husband, George Kay.

In a tweet, Fathers4Justice said: “Tragic news about the passing of George Kay who came to Fathers4Justice for help.

“He was heartbroken after @KerryKatona7 denied him access to daughter Dylan-Jorge. Katona’s not ‘heartbroken’. She has blood on her hands. Matt O’C #RIP”

The controversial tweet sparked fury from Kerry’s teenage daughter, Molly.

She came out in defence of her mum.

Seventeen-year-old Molly, whose father is Westlife star Brian McFadden, took to the social media site to defend her mother.

She replied: “I suggest [you] take this tweet down, how dare you make statements this disgusting at such a vulnerable time, your accusations are innacurate and extremely insensitive.

“I truly hope you never find yourself in this kind of situation. Vile words from a vile person you should be ashamed,” she raged.

But it wasn’t just Molly who raged at the tweet.

Kerry’s mother, Sue also replied.

“Well said 123_mollymc and so true x,” she said.

A celeb friend of Kerry’s also became involved in the situation.

Chanelle Hayes wrote: “This is so sad.

“You’ve got a brilliant platform to do good here and you’re borderline trolling women?

“You don’t know enough about their situations to have an informed opinion. You could do so much good but all I see is a timeline filled with hate and bitterness. Such a waste. X”
