Katie Price opens up about mum Amy’s incurable lung condition

The 64-year-old may only have several years to live

Katie Price last night revealed to her Twitter followers that her mum is suffering from an incurable lung condition.

The model explained Amy, 64, was suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and may only have three to five years to live – however treatment could prolong this.

She wrote: “Just to clarify for all of you reading. My mum has been diagnosed with lung disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). There is unfortunately no known cure for this.

“As a shock to us all, me and my family are proud to be supporting the British Lung Foundation to help support awareness and raise funds for research of IPF.

“With this we can help in other diagnoses and create awareness for people with IPF.

“The condition has an average life expectancy of 3 – 5 years. There are two known pills which, if they work, can slow things down.

“My mum is a fighter, she is working out every day, going to work and living life to the full.

“Please help us in supporting the British Lung Foundation.”

Amy has another daughter besides Katie, 39 – Sophie, 27.

This news comes at an already turbulent time for Katie, who recently discovered that husband Kieran Hayler, 30, had cheated on her once again – this time with the couple’s nanny, Nikki Brown.

In an interview published today in The Sun on Sunday, he has opened up about being a sex addict and claims that he would have tried to bed the 40-year-old member of staff even if she’d been 80.

The former stripper says he has chosen to speak out to defend his wife, as his year-long mistress has branded Katie a liar over the affair allegations.
