Katie Price has slammed reports her teenage son Harvey has gone into residential care.

The former glamour model was said to have felt “utterly lost” because the 16-year-old moved out of the family home last week.

According to New! magazine, Katie was struggling with Harvey not living with her.

A source told the publication: “He’s about an hour’s drive from Katie’s house so it’s not just like he’s around the corner and that’s a big deal for her.

“She’s massively emotional about it. She’s in pieces.”

But Katie, 40, has taken to Twitter to clarify the situation and confirm the report is false.

She wrote: “Despite speculation led by New! magazine, Harvey is not in full-time residential care. He is at school as usual. I am not inconsolable. Thank you for your concern!”

Katie added, scathingly: “Please get your facts right before writing about my children.”

During an appearance on Victoria Derbsyshire’s BBC Two show in February, Katie admitted she “hates” the idea of him going into care but had to do what’s best for him as he had become “a danger to himself”.

Harvey is autistic, partially sighted and has Prader-Willi syndrome, a complex genetic condition that affects a child’s physical, psychological and behavioural development.

And Katie, who has always been his full-time carer, insisted in an interview with The Guardian in 2013 that he would never go into care and would “always live at home”.

But she confessed earlier this year that she was finding it impossible to take care of him on her own, now he’s older, revealing that he had smashed several iPads and would scare the other children whenever he lost his temper.

Despite her struggle, trolls hit out at Katie for suggesting he might go into care, slamming her as “crazy” and “selfish”.

She defended herself on social media, writing alongside a clip of a sleepy Harvey on Instagram: “I enjoyed the day with Harvey. Please watch our interview we did together today and realise I’m a real honest human who genuinely wants to help people.”
