Katie Price admits she’s not proud of her “weekly” cocaine use last year

Mum-of-five says she was at "breaking point"

Former glamour model Katie Price has opened up about her drugs troubles, admitting she was “not proud” of taking cocaine.

The 40-year-old said she was “at breaking point” before being assessed for rehab during an appearance on Victoria Derbyshire’s BBC Two programme earlier today.

Asked how regularly she was taking the illegal substance, Katie – seen rapping about drugs in a video taken while she was on holiday in Majorca last September – insisted she wasn’t “self-medicating” every day.

“It was weekly for about half a year,” Katie told presenter Victoria.

“I went to The Priory, someone assesses you and I was in there for severe trauma and depression.”

She had earlier told how the stresses of 2018 had made it an “awful year” for her and her family.

“I found out my mum was terminally ill, then that my husband at the time was cheating on me again,” she explained.

“My horse died in front of my house, in South Africa I was held at gun point with my children Junior and Princess, then [Harvey] had a kidnap threat again and then I was divorcing my husband.”

Katie continued: “I was self-medicating on a drug, cocaine, I’m not proud of it.”

The mum-of-five also revealed she found it tough to ask for help.

“I’ve never been up that track before,” she added.

“I went to the doctor and it was the hardest thing ever to say: ‘I need help, I’m at breaking point.'”

However, following four weeks of treatment and plenty of reflection, it appears Katie is looking forward, not back.

“Am I ashamed I did it? It’s not good but I couldn’t help it, I was at breaking point,” she reiterated.

“The only way is up, sometimes it’s good to have a reality check.”

Katie, who recently said she would like to adopt a Nigerian orphan, also admitted she’s considering putting eldest son Harvey into residential care as he’s becoming “a danger to himself”.
