Kate Wright pays tribute to fiancé Rio Ferdinand’s late wife on Mother’s Day

She is keeping Rebecca Ellison's memory alive

Kate Wright has written a touching message for fiancé Rio Ferdinand’s late wife Rebecca Ellison on Mother’s Day.

The former TOWIE star shared a picture of a Mother’s Day card on Instagram, which had Kate, Rio’s late wife Rebecca and other members of their family on it.

Kate wrote a heartfelt tribute for Rebecca, who died from breast cancer in 2015, and the family alongside the photo.

She wrote: “Lovely Mother’s Day dinner with family, we celebrated all 6 of us today 💗 how lucky we all are to have hearts that can love after so much pain. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone💗.”

Kate has previously spoken on becoming stepmum to Rio’s three children, Lorenz, 12, Tate, 10, and seven-year-old Tia, after they have been through so much.

Retired footballer Rio, 40, also lost his beloved mum to cancer in 2017.

Kate previously told the MailOnline that she “couldn’t imagine” life without the kids now.

The couple got engaged in November last year, while on holiday with the children in Abu Dhabi.

Fans rushed to praise Kate, who began dating Rio in 2017, for her lovely Mother’s Day post.

One of her followers wrote: “❤️Amazing what a wonderful thoughtful beautiful idea❤️You are the best in every way❤️Rio and the children are very lucky to have you❤️.”

Another added: “This literally melts my heart. 💓🥰 what a beautiful card. X.”

A third commented: “Love this ✨so thoughtful 💕,” while a fourth added: “This is amazing, so beautiful!! You are such a special soul @xkatiewright 💖💖.”

It comes after Rio also posted a special tribute to Kate on Mother’s Day, thanking her for all she’s done for him and his children.

He wrote: “Thank you for all you do for the little munchkins. From keeping their mum’s memory alive, to constantly putting smiles on their faces. Love u ❤️.”
