Kate Lawler has announced she is pregnant with her first baby.
The 40-year-old radio DJ shot to fame in 2002 when she won the third series of Big Brother.
Kate is expecting her first child with her fiancé Martin.
What did Kate Lawler say?
She told HELLO! magazine: “I have never felt more ready.
“For a lot of my life I did feel pressurised and I wasn’t ready. You have to do what’s right for you. I think I am going to be a much happier person knowing that I did this when I wanted to.”
Kate and Martin decided to try for a baby after their wedding was postponed.
However, the reality TV star initially laughed when pals suggested they could have a baby between now and their rebooked nuptials.
She said: “This was completely planned. The wedding got cancelled and I wasn’t thinking about a baby at all.”
Kate said when she turned 40 in May, she “suddenly felt grown up” and “like I was ready for something and I didn’t know what it was”.
She added that they “realised we would have to start trying straight away to avoid having a newborn at the wedding” so they did.
Katie said they “gave it one shot” and “it happened”.
When is Kate Lawler due to give birth?
The star is due to give birth in February next year.
She shared a picture on Instagram of her two dogs sitting next to a board which reads “we’re getting a new best friend (not the furry kind either)” and features a picture of the baby scan.
Kate added the caption: “Still can’t believe we’re adding another set of paws to our pack and this time it’s not another dog.
“Our little human is due in February 2021 (sic)”
