Kate Gosselin ‘investigated for child abuse’ after claims by son

Kate Plus 8 star accused of 'mistreating' special needs son Colin

Kate Gosselin has been investigated for child abuse, according to shock new claims.

The Kate Plus 8 star was accused of mistreating her 12-year-old son Collin, who is in a treatment facility for children with special needs, earlier this year, Life & Style reported.

“The police later notified Collin’s dad, Jon, that a child abuse investigation was opened,” the source added.

Collin, who is one of Kate’s sextuplets with ex-husband Jon Gosselin, 39, was sent to a residential facility for kids with special needs back in May.

It was then he made the shock claims to staff.

The 41-year-old could face jail if investigators find her son’s claims to be true.

Earlier this year, the mom-of-eight told People magazine that the center was helping Collin “learn the skills he needs to be the best him he can be.”

Nannies who worked for the couple when they were still together also witnessed Kate “getting physical” with twins Mady and Cara, now 16, it has been claimed.

“Kate would spank her kids, especially the twins,” a former nanny told Life & Style.

“The spanking was open-handed and was to discipline them if they wouldn’t listen, but the kids would just cry more. They were scared. This would happen a few times a week.”

Kate and Jon Gosselin married in 1999. They had twins a year later followed by sextuplets in 2004.

They starred in reality TV show Jon and Kate Plus Eight until their divorce in 2009. Kate now stars in her own series called Kate Plus Eight on TLC.
