Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Clifton hasn’t ruled out reconciling with her estranged husband Kevin.

In March, the pro dancing couple confirmed widespread rumours that they’d called time on their three-year marriage.

But now, in a new interview with Daily Mail’s You magazine, Karen candidly said she “hasn’t given up” on getting back together in the future and they haven’t filed for divorce yet.

“It’s important to be open to all possibilities. I haven’t given up on it. I saw my parents break up and I didn’t like it,” she said.

“I think the best thing for now is to behave like adults and take a break. He can go his way, take care of what needs to be taken care of, and I’ll do the same.

“You never know what’ll happen; maybe even in a couple of years… It’s just that right now this is what we need.”

Karen, 36, added that she will keep her surname of Clifron and has no plans to remove her wedding ring just yet.

The couple have frequently said they’ve managed to remain the best of friends following their split, and are going forward with their joint tour, which kicks off in May.

Rumours about Karen and Kevin’s marriage began during the last series of Strictly, but it was only last month they confirmed their split during a joint interview on BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans show.

In a joint interview on This Morning in March, the couple said they’d never considered calling off their Kevin and Karen: Live tour, and are working together very amicably.

Karen said: “We have been dancing together for seven years and that bond we created as friends, first of all, and then as professional dancers is very strong. So to let go of all that just because our private life didn’t work out the way we wanted it to…”

Kevin added: “Dancing is how we met and what our relationship has been based on, what we’ve always done for the last seven years, and what we will continue doing.”

They’ve also said splitting has unleashed a new creative side to both of them.

Kevin told BBC Breakfast: “Privately our situation has changed but professionally we’re still dancing together and stronger than ever, really. As I said the other day, dancing is the glue that holds us together and it’s how we met and we’re excited to go on tour.

“Since we’ve been upfront and honest about everything it’s unlocked this new creativity and new ideas coming out. As performers, you want to come from a place of truth, so it has unlocked all this new stuff we’re excited about.”

Karen then said: “It hasn’t changed our chemistry and passion on the dance floor.

“If anything, we’re still best friends and we care about each other and respect each other as performers. This guy is amazing. I can’t believe sometimes I’m dancing with him!

“The energy we want to bring and the positivity. And from the fans as well. They’ve always supported us and it’s great to hear their feedback and to see them coming to support us. It’s fantastic.”

Their new tour kicks off in May and will visit 37 venues across the UK and Ireland.

It’s been described as a “high-energy” evening filled with “sassy tunes, sparkling costumes, compelling storytelling and heart-pounding choreography.”
