Jim Carrey slams reports he gave late girlfriend three STDs before her death

Lawsuit alleges actor triggered girlfriend's suicide after calling her a 'whore' and giving her STD's

Jim Carrey has hit back at claims he gave his late ex-girlfriend Cathriona White three sexually transmitted diseases before her death.

White’s estranged husband Mark Burton, who accuses Carrey of providing the prescription drugs White used to overdose in September 2015, filed a revised complaint in his wrongful death lawsuit against the actor on Thursday.

The amended lawsuit alleges White, 30, discovered in 2013 Carrey had given her Herpes Type 1, Herpes Type 2 and gonorrhea.

It then claims Carrey pressured her not to tell anyone about it.

Burton’s lawyer Michael Avenatti also included a letter White wrote to Carrey in 2013 describing herself as ‘damaged goods’ after she learned she had contracted these diseases.

In that letter White also writes that she has been called a ‘whore,’ an ‘opportunist,’ and an ‘ungrateful b****’ by Carrey.

But the actor dismissed the claims as a bogus attempt to milk him for money.

Carrey’s lawyer Marty Singer told TMZ that his client ‘categorically disputed’ the new allegations.

Singer goes on to allege Burton’s marriage to White was a sham to enable him to get a green card.

He claims Burton and White didn’t even live in the same state after their wedding.

Carrey’s attorney also says the STD claim makes no sense because White reached out to Carrey in 2014, begging him to continue the relationship and they were even working an agreement.

Burton’s complaint states White first began to notice symptoms of what could be a STD in January of 2013 and texted Carrey, who allegedly replied: ‘Aggravated folacles [sic] or bumps are normal when you shave or have vigorous sex.’

The new complaint also states Carrey, 54, had sex with White without informing her he had the STDs or that she was at risk.

He attempted to downplay her symptoms and when she was tested and told by doctors she had STDs, he suggested she had contracted them from someone else, according to court documents.

In a statement Burton said he will not continue to ‘stand idly by while Mr Carrey and his handlers deceive the world about what they did to Cat.’

‘How dare they invoke her memory in an effort to save Mr Carrey’s false persona.

‘This is a search for the truth and people will now learn about the real Jim Carrey and his treatment of women.

‘I urge other women who have been exploited and injured by him and his reckless behavior to come forward and tell their stories.’

In Burton’s initial complaint filed on Monday, it claims Carrey illegally obtained and then distributed Ambien, Popranolol and Percocet to his girlfriend.

Carrey said in the defiant statement: ‘There are moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honor against the evil in this world. I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved.’

White’s autopsy, which was released in July, showed that she died from a fatal overdose of prescription pills.

White married Burton on January 15, 2013 at the Heavenly Bliss Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

White and Burton worked together on the short films, with Burton working as a cameraman and White the makeup artist.

White had broken up with Carrey just a few days before she took her own life, and wrote about the break-up in a note she left behind.
