Jeremy McConnell reportedly vows to stay off drugs for his one-year-old son

Claims he's been clean since jail

Troubled reality TV star Jeremy McConnell has reportedly made a vow to stay off drugs, in order to see his one-year-old son, Caben.

After being jailed at the end of last year for missing mandatory community service, the model has opened up about his violent past and hopes for the future.

Speaking to the Sun Online, he claimed to be determined to get clean so that he can form a relationship with Caben, his son with actress Stephanie Davis.

Jeremy was given a suspended sentence after brutally assaulting Stephanie while on drugs, and was jailed after leaving the country despite his scheduled 200 hours of community service.

“I should be held responsible for what I did that day,” he told the publication.

“I got sent to prison and I did the time. I hit self-destruct, it was my lowest point. Jail gave me time to reflect and I’ll never make those mistakes again.”

He claimed that the assault took place in the midst of an intense period in his life, and that the amount of drugs he was taking had left him suffering delusions and paranoia.

“If I do a line I’m so paranoid I’ll be looking under the door and out of the blinds. I think the cleaners are hit-men. I think I’ll get a bullet off a cleaner.”

Jeremy claimed that he hasn’t taken any illegal drugs since his time in prison, saying that his dedication to his son is what’s stopping him – also claiming that in the future he may quit drinking as well.

“I could relapse and take drugs again today but I have to tell myself what I want in my future. I want my son.”

Jeremy has been fielding fresh allegations that he’s broken the restraining order Stephanie currently holds against him, by attempting to contact her online.

He’s denied the allegations, insisting that he wants to do things by the book – waiting out the restraining order before trying to rebuild a relationship with his family.

“The next step is contact and mediation and, when the three year restraining order is over, I hope to sit down with his mother and focus on Caben and not us. All I want is to be a good father to my boy.”
