Jeremy Kyle guest accuses friend of hiring a hitman to kill her cat

Her friend has STRONGLY denied the accusation

| Updated:

Jeremy Kyle viewers were stunned when a returning guest on Thursday morning’s show accused her friend of hiring a hitman to kill her beloved cat.

Rebecca had previously been on the show to accuse Helen of taking money from her, although that was proven to be a false allegation as Helen didn’t do it.

She returned to the show to prove (wrongly once again) that Helen had taken a memory stick containing precious family photos from her.

Yet the course of the chat took a very strange turn when Rebecca informed Jeremy that she had been told her former friend hired a hitman to run over her cat at the time that she and Helen were last on the show.

Yes, really.

“I’ve been told she arranged to have my cat killed. He was hit by a truck and died instantly,” Rebecca explained.

Jeremy, 52, was quick to offer his condolences for the loss of her cat, but the chat show host failed to keep a straight face when Rebecca explained that her moggy had always been careful on the road and would not have gotten himself run over.

“I’m clever too, but if I’m hit by a truck, it’s curtains drawn,” he said, before joking, “I’m sure that would make a lot of people across England very happy”.

When Jeremy noted how Helen had been in Manchester filming for Jeremy Kyle at the time of her cat’s death, Rebecca made it very clear she felt Helen’s appearance on the show had been just ‘an alibi’.

Helen herself denied the accusation that she had knocked off the poor cat, telling Jeremy, “Of course I didn’t kill him. I’m gutted that cat has gone because I loved that cat myself.”

But Rebecca blasted Helen, claiming that Cat Protection had been called about Helen’s own cat Misty, resulting in Misty being taken away.

Helen, however, said: “I’m allergic to cats, I shouldn’t have got a cat in the first place and I called Cat Protection myself.”

A lie detector test proved Helen did NOT take Rebecca’s memory stick.

Viewers on Twitter were shocked by Rebecca’s allegations about the cat, although some couldn’t help but joke about the bizarre situation.

“The assassin charged extra because it took 9 attempts to kill the cat,” quipped one bemused fan.

“Organised the FSB to bump off the cat,” added another.

Another creative tweet even took a shot at solving the whole memory stick/dead cat mystery.

“Cat stole the memory stick – killed in rush to escape,” they wrote.

However some fans were quick to defend Rebecca, accusing Jeremy of offering little sympathy to her.

“Making a joke about a cat being run over. Classy Jez, real classy,” one follower said.

“This show can’t be real. Jeremy is making disgusting comments about a guest’s dead cat. That is cruel. Really cruel!” added another disappointed tweet.

Jeremy ended the show by telling Rebecca he did truly feel sorry for her, as obviously the memory stick was very important, but it wasn’t Helen who had taken it.
