Jeff Brazier expresses heartbreak after his son’s Jade Goody gesture fails to earn him a party invite

But TV presenter says he's "proud" of his boy

Jeff Brazier found himself having to console his young son after the lad’s sweet gesture ended in disappointment.

Freddie, 13, gave one of his classmates a bottle of his mum Jade Goody’s perfume as a birthday present, only to find later that he wasn’t invited to the girl’s party.

And TV presenter Jeff revealed on Twitter that he was heartbroken for his son, but also proud of what he’d done.

The 38-year-old wrote: “Felt for Fred today. He got a girl at school some of his mum’s perfume for her birthday, only to find out he wasn’t invited to her party.

“Sharing his mum in any form is the highest gesture he could offer.”

Jeff added that his son needn’t be too upset, as there was probably a genuine reason for him not getting an invitation.

He explained: “It was more a specific numbers thing, I think, so not to be taken to heart.

“Such courage to open himself up like that. I’m really proud.”

Freddie and his brother Bobby, 14, have been living with their dad ever since Jade died of cervical cancer in 2009.

Jeff’s done a brilliant job, and now that his fiancée Kate Dwyer has moved in with them, they’re a proper little family again.

However, the doting dad – who’s qualified as a bereavement counsellor – recently found himself the target of cruel trolls after he appeared on Loose Women to offer advice to widowed Jessica Cunningham.

The Apprentice star’s estranged husband was recently found dead at his home, leaving Jessica to explain to the couple’s three young daughters what had happened.

And after Jeff offered some soothing words as a man who’d been through a similar situation, viewers were less than kind with their comments.

One tweeted: “Jeff Brazier needs to stop with Jade Goody. Leave it alone. Yr using this to get profile.”

And another scathed: “Brazier talking about grief again ffs.”
