Jamie Oliver reflects on his “amazing” grandads with sweet childhood throwback

A lovely message for all the dads out there

TV chef Jamie Oliver has shared a sweet message of love for his dad and reminisced about the “amazing” grandads he had in his life as a child.

The 44-year-old posted a string of throwback snaps on Instagram and wished “big love” to all dads on Father’s Day.

He captioned the post: “Happy Father’s Day guys! Big love to all you Dads out there that doing your very best to bring up and love the next generation, it’s never an easy job and today is always a nice opportunity to show some dad solidarity and respect.

“Some Dads we are lucky enough to still have in our lives and sadly some Dads we have lost which is very sad, so I’m sending lotsa love to all you guys whatever your situation and thinking of them today…

“I’d personally like to take this opportunity to thank my dad aka ‘Big Tell Trevor’ @trevoroliver I have been so lucky to have a strong, kind, loving dad who gave me so many nice memories growing up, he let [me] follow my heart wherever I wanted to go, thank you dad I love you so much your the best!”

Writing further, Jamie said his dad is now a “wonderful grandad”.

He continued: “I was so lucky to have two amazing grandads in my life, sadly no longer with us but grandad ‘Ted’ Edgar Palmer on my mum’s side and ‘Foxy’ Kennith Oliver on my dad’s side, they were amazing men and very missed… have a wonderful day. Big love.”

Jamie’s fans rushed to comment on the post.

One said: “Happy Father’s Day, mate! Such a wonderful post. Your granddads are very stylish indeed and look like amazing men. My dad is sadly missed and it’s so sad that he never will meet his grandchildren.”

Another wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to you Jamie… wish you could’ve met my dad too, he was a lovely, kind and wonderful man.”

A third commented: Wow cute family… happy Father’s Day.

Someone else said: “Awww wooow that’s so special xx.”

Awww that’s so awesome,” wrote a fifth, adding: “Happy father’s day to you And your family.”
