As well as all the drama that went on inside the I’m A Celebrity camp over the past few weeks, we had a tasty little subplot that was keeping us on tenterhooks.
Was romance about to blossom between James Argent and Scarlett Moffatt?
TOWIE legend ‘Arg’ was signed up to appear on the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show Extra Camp – which is, of course, co-presented by Scarlett Moffatt. And while he was in Australia, there were reports that the pair had been spending a lot of time together, sparking rumours they were romantically involved.
Well, via his rep, the Essex hunk has now reacted to those rumours – so, are they or aren’t they?
Scarlett broke up with her boyfriend Luke Crodden in October, revealing that he’d dumped her on her birthday.
And according to Closer, James lightened the former Gogglebox star’s mood during their time together in Australia, with the pair bonding over their ‘weight issues’.
A source told the magazine: “Arg has helped to cheer her up – he’s been a good distraction and came along at the perfect time. They have a very similar sense of humour, and he knows how to put a smile on her face.
“There’s been lots of flirting and, any chance they got, they spent it together in Australia. Arg is a tonic after everything she’s had going on recently, and he’s definitely her type.”

And to add fuel to Closer’s story, Arg shared a pic on his Instagram page that showed him celebrating his 30th birthday with a cake – and Scarlett by his side.
But the TOWIE star’s representative has refuted claims that there’s anything going on between the celebrity pair.
The spokesman said: “There is no truth in that, and [they] are just friends having filmed out in Australia together.”
Well, if Scarlett is fond of Arg, it sounds like she isn’t the only one. Last week, his TOWIE colleague and on-off squeeze Gemma Collins posted a gushing Instagram tribute to the star on his birthday.
Alongside a cute video, the 36-year-old blonde wrote: “Happy 30th birthday to my dear friend @real_arg. This is where life begins and you mature and grow!
“You have come a long way, dealt with struggles but always seem to bounce back singing ha ha.

Well, whether he gets any birthday snogs or not, it sounds like he’s a popular guy!
