James ‘Arg’ Argent reportedly dropped by TOWIE bosses after failing drugs test

The reality star spent time in rehab last year

TOWIE star James ‘Arg’ Argent has reportedly been dropped from the show after failing a dug test.

The Sun has claimed that the production company behind the hit reality show has decided to stop working with Arg after a drug text showed cocaine in his system three weeks ago.

The publication’s source claimed that the failed test, along with Arg’s recent weight gain, has sparked concern among the reality star’s friends and family.

“It’s a shame but James’ problems flared up again, and he failed a routine test,” the source said.

“As a result Lime Pictures aren’t working with him, and it has sparked more concerns among his friends who fear he isn’t looking after himself.”

They went on to say that friends are concerned about where his problems could lead.

“His weight has rocketed recently which he says he plans to tackle, but getting back involved with drugs is even worse. It’s a dangerous path he is going down,” they continued.

A source for Lime Pictures told The Sun that there are “no plans” for the company to film with James at present.

A source from within the industry claimed that the production company wanted to support Arg’s return to the show, after he took time away last year to go to rehab.

He took a drug test voluntarily to show he was in a good place to begin filming, but the test reportedly came back positive.

Arg has had several stints in rehab to deal with his drug use, including a stay in The Priory in 2014, and one in a Thai facility in 2017.

The reality star addressed his weight gain in an appearance on This Morning this week, claiming that it was an uncomfortable conversation.

He took to Instagram to comment on the interview, saying “That certainly wasn’t easy or comfortable to talk about my weight issues on This Morning, but I feel so much better for doing so.

“It’s time I finally addressed it, It’s time I owned it and it’s time I do something about it!”
